Hello needleworker friends! Good Monday everyone 💕. I'm very happy because now I get my machine and I was able to do my sewing projects again. This time I was thinking of Christmas gifts for my little nieces and it occurred to me that I could give each of them (they are 5 😂) a little costume so that they can transform their dolls into mermaids! 💖
¡Hola amigos trabajadores de las agujas! Buen lunes para todos 💛. Estoy muy feliz porque ya puede ir a buscar mi máquina y pude volver a hacer mis proyectos de costura. En esta oportunidad estuve pensando en regalos de Navidad para mis pequeñas sobrinas y se me ocurrió que podía darles a cada una de ellas (son como 5 😂) un pequeño traje para que transformen sus muñecas ¡en sirenas! 💖
As it is a prototype, I made the mold by hand from the contour of the doll's body (internally praying that when I sewed everything it would fit well). For the top I made a small rectangle-shaped top.
Como es un prototipo, hice la moldería a mano a partir del contorno del cuerpo de la muñeca (rogando internamente que cuando cosiera todo le entrara bien). Para la parte superior hice un pequeño top con forma de rectángulo.
For the mermaid tail, I put a velcro on the back. That's when I realized that it was the last piece I had, I have to go buy more. In my house I had these sequins, so I added them to the suit.
Then I faced the rights and sewed all the way around very carefully.
Para la cola de la sirena, puse un velcro en la parte de atrás. Allí fue cuando me di cuenta de que era el último trozo que me quedaba, tengo que ir a comprar más. En mi casa tenía estas lentejuelas, así que se las añadí al traje. Luego, enfrenté los derechos y cosí por todo el contorno con mucho cuidado.
For the top, I hemmed the rectangle and then had to improvise adding some straps to be able to attach it to the doll's body. Here I also added some sequins.
Para el top, hice los dobladillos al rectángulo y luego tuve que improvisar añadiendo unas tiras para poder sujetarlo al cuerpo de la muñeca. Aquí también añadí algunas lentejuelas.
And this was the end result!

I think the prototype turned out quite well, I would just have to adjust the waist a little more so that it fits more to the body of the doll and get more velcro. When I have the rest of the costumes, I will share them with you 💛.
Creo que el prototipo salió bastante bien, solo tendría que ajustar un poco más la cintura para que quede más al cuerpo de la muñeca y conseguir más velcro. Cuando tenga el resto de los trajes, los compartiré con ustedes ❤️.
