The month of February was incredible for me: I got to know so many beautiful places and I will always be grateful for having the opportunity to do so. Nuevo lunes de trabajos de agujas por aquí y en todo el mundo, queridos compañeros 😃. Espero que se encuentren muy bien y que hayan pasado un gran fin de semana. Por mi parte, he estado vagando demasiado, no me puedo quejar. El mes de febrero fue incréible para mí: conocí tantos lugares hermosos y siempre estaré agradecida por tener la oportunidad de hacerlo. Y justamente uno de esos viajes fue los que motivó el proyecto que voy a mostrarles a continuación ❤️. ¡Espero que les guste!
Last weekend had two extra days thanks to the carnival festivities and many people took the opportunity to walk and travel. Of course I was no exception (you know) so my friends and I organized a trip to the province of Mendoza, 1200 km from home. My relatives already think that I never disassemble my bag and this is a bit like that because I usually carry the same things 😅.
El fin de semana pasado tuvo dos días extras gracias a los festejos de carnavales y mucha gente aprovechó para pasear y estar de viaje. Por supuesto yo no fui la excepción (ya saben) así que mis amigas y yo organizamos una salida a la provincia de Mendoza, a 1200 km de casa. Mis familiares ya piensan que nunca desarmo mi bolso y esto es un poco así porque generalmente llevo las mismas cosas 😅.
On my previous trip I had noticed that I needed a small backpack to carry things to the beach, such as flip flops, a towel, sunscreen and etc. So, my creativity had me several days sewing by hand this little backpack made with a bag. The truth is that this project was very useful and I used it every day while I was there, so I had the great idea of lending it to my sister who was going away for the long weekend. BUT when I did it I still didn't know that I would also be going on a trip and would need it again 😅.
En mi anterior viaje había notado que necesitaba una pequeña mochila para llevar cosas a la playa, como ojotas, toalla, protector solar y etc. Entonces, mi creatividad me tuvo varios días cosiendo a mano esta pequeña mochila hecha con una bolsa. La verdad es que este proyecto resultó muy útil y lo usé todos los días mientras estuve allí, por lo que tuve la gran idea de prestarselo a mi hermana que se iba de paseo durante el fin de semana largo. PERO cuando lo hice aún no sabía que yo también me iría de viaje y la necesitaría otra vez 😅.
True to form, when did I realize I needed another backpack? The night before the trip, precisely at dawn that same day while I finished putting everything away. So, this post was generated around 3AM, a very sleepy Laura but wanting to carry a backpack that takes up little space in her suitcase. The good thing about this time is that now I did have my machine, so everything went faster ❤️.
Fiel a mi estilo, ¿cuándo me dí cuenta de que necesitaría otra mochila? La noche anterior al viaje, precisamente a la madrugada de ese mismo día mientras terminaba de guardar todo. Entonces, esta publicación fue generada alrededor de las 3AM, una Laura con mucho sueño pero con ganas de llevar una mochilita que ocupe poco espacio en la valija. Lo bueno de esta vez es que ahora sí contaba con mi máquina, entonces todo fue más rápido ❤️.
This backpack is the easiest project out there: using a grocery bag, we remove the handles and hem the top. Then, with those handles, we make some pins on the sides at the bottom and finally, we pass two laces in opposite directions to form the handles of the backpack. This way of passing the laces allows us to have a drawstring closure, saving us from having to use buttons, zippers and all that 😅.
Esta mochila es el proyecto más sencillo que hay: utilizando una bolsa de mandados, retiramos las manijas y hacemos un dobladillo en la parte superior. Luego, con esas manijas hacemos unos pasadores a los lados en la parte inferior y finalmente, pasamos dos cordones en sentidos opuestos para formar las manijas de la mochila. Esta forma de pasar los cordones nos permite tener un cierre de frunce, ahorrándonos tener que usar botones, cierres y todo eso 😅.
Probably the hardest thing about this project was competing for table space with all my cats. They are quite curious and all the time they wanted to know what I was doing. Maybe they wanted to help me, annoy me, or they were just bored. They are like rambunctious children, being 3AM they should be sleeping, but they were more active than me 😅.
Probalmente lo más difícil de este proyecto fue competir por el espacio en la mesa con todos mis gatos. Ellos son bastante curiosos y todo el tiempo querían saber qué estaba haciendo. Quizás querían ayudarme, molestarme o simplemente estaban aburridos. Son como unos niños revoltosos, siendo las 3AM deberían estar durmiendo, pero estaban más activos que yo 😅.
Racing against the clock and struggling with these little meddlers, I was able to finish the project and still had a couple of hours to sleep before the trip. Now I have two identical backpacks but it is better to have more than enough 😅.
A contrarreloj y luchando con estos pequeños entrometidos, pude terminar el proyecto y aún me quedaban un par de horas para dormir antes de viajar. Ahora tengo dos mochilas iguales pero es mejor que sobre y no que falte 😅.
Since the previous weekend that I didn't take my sewing machine, it's still hard for me to get back to the rhythm of sewing. It's just that I always have something to do at home (read cleaning/laundry/doing errands/lots of time on netflix) and before I know it the day is over. The good thing is that I have several lingerie projects in mind so I hope that in the next few days they will materialize. There are still about 20 days left for my next trip, I have enough time to do it 😅.
Desde el fin de semana anterior que no agarro mi máquina, aún me cuesta volver al ritmo de costura. Es que siempre tengo algo que hacer en casa (léase limpiar/lavarropa/hacertrámites/muchotiempodenetflix) y cuando me quiero dar cuenta se terminó el día. Lo bueno es que tengo varios proyectos de lencería en mente así que espero que en los siguientes días sean materializados. Aún faltan como 20 días para mi próximo viaje, tengo tiempo suficiente para hacerlos 😅.
