Hello Needle Work friends! I hope you are very well today, happy Monday to all ❤️. Here in Argentina today is a holiday, so we are on a long weekend, taking the opportunity to rest and take a walk 😃. As a project for this needlework Monday, a few nights ago I had a peak of sewing inspiration and spent the entire morning sewing a set of underwear for my friend, which I now want to share with you. Today I'm going to show you how I made the bodice long bralette style ❤️.

Aquí en Argentina hoy es un día feriado, por lo que estamos en fin de semana largo, aprovechando para descansar y pasear un poco 😃. Como proyecto para este lunes de trabajos de aguja, hace unas noches tuve un pico máximo de inspiración de costura y pasé toda la madrugada cosiendo un conjunto de ropa interior para mi amiga, que ahora quiero compartir con ustedes. En el día de hoy voy a mostrarles como hice el corpiño estilo bralette largo ❤️.
In the process of assembling and making this bodice, I experimented with two things: shape and size. I decided to make a new design that I saw in this tutorial: I had been wanting to try something new for a long time and I found this model beautiful. The mold consists of three pieces, with a little extra fabric on the strap side.
En el proceso de armado y confección de este corpiño experimenté con dos cosas: la forma y el tamaño. Decidí hacer un nuevo diseño que vi en este tutorial: hace tiempo tenía ganas de intentar algo nuevo y este modelo me pareció precioso. El molde consiste en tres piezas, con un poco de tela adicional en la parte de los breteles.
The lace I used was part of the 8 meters of black and silver lace that I bought over a month ago 😂. My supplies take time to wear out as my moments of sewing inspiration are sporadic, in addition to the fact that I already have a lot of lace that I bought and received as gifts.
El encaje que utilicé fue parte de los 8 metros de encaje negro y plateado que compré hace más de un mes 😂. Mis insumos tardan en gastarse ya que mis momentos de inspiración de costura son esporádicos, sumado a que ya tengo un montón de encaje que compré y me regalaron.
The second thing I experienced was the size of this garment: my friend has a generous bust contour, around 130 cm, while I do not reach 90 😂. This made me doubt because it seemed to me that everything was very big.
La segunda cosa que experimenté fue el tamaño de esta prenda: mi amiga tiene un contorno de busto generoso, alrededor de 130 cm, mientras que yo no llego a los 90 😂. Esto me hacía dudar porque me parecía que todo era muy grande.
The first thing I did was sew the three pieces together. To tidy up the seams, I pass a zigzag stitch over them again, which generates a black line in the design.
Lo primero que hice fue coser las tres piezas entre sí. Para emprolijar las costuras les vuelvo a pasar una puntada zigzag por encima, lo que genera una línea negra en el diseño.
Then, I added an edge of split elastic around the edge of the siza. This tour was quite long and repeated by two. I don't get along very well with this elastic, but I did my best to keep it neat 😅.
Luego, añadí un borde de elástico partido en todo el contorno de la siza. Este recorrido fue bastante largo y repetido por dos. No me llevo muy bien con este elástico, pero hice mi mejor intento para que quede prolijo 😅.
For the contour of the lower bust I added a little thicker elastic than the one I use for my bodices. In large sizes, more resistant supplies should be used to achieve a better fit. This elastic is first sewn from the front and then turned inward and sewn again. This double stitching adds even more strength to the garment.
Para el contorno del bajobusto añadí un elastico un poco más grueso que el que uso para mis corpiños. En los talles grandes se deben usar insumos más resistentes para lograr un mejor ajuste. Este elástico se cose primero por el frente y luego se voltea hacia adentro y se cose nuevamente. Esta doble costura agrega aún más resistencia a la prenda.
Finally, you have to sew the small curve that gives place to put the clasp on the back and add the straps. At first I thought of using a thick strap, but this was not taken into account from the initial design, so I had to use thin straps 😅.
Finalmente, hay que coser la pequeña curva que da lugar para poner el broche de la espalda y añadir los breteles. Al principio pensé en usar un bretel grueso, pero esto no lo tuve en cuenta desde el diseño inicial, así que tuve que utilizar breteles finos 😅.
And this was the end result ❤️! A very cute and different bodice from the ones I had been making, of course now I want to make one for myself 😂.
¡Y este fue el resultado final ❤️! Un corpiño muy lindo y diferente a los que venía haciendo, por supuesto ahora quiero hacer uno para mí 😂.
I was not calm until I took the garment to my friend and saw that the size was correct. This design is to be used on these cold days, since having additional fabric in the straps cannot be used with small t-shirts. I hadn't thought about this so I did it at the right time 😅. No me quedé tranquila hasta que le llevé la prenda a mi amiga y vi que el talle era correcto. Este diseño es para usar en estos días de frío, ya que al tener tela adicional en los breteles no se puede usar con remeras pequeñas. No había pensado en esto así que lo hice en el momento indicado 😅. Nos vemos el lunes que viene cuando les muestre el proceso de armado de la panty a juego ❤️.
