Hello, how are you? It has been a month since I started recreating all of my drawings from nine years ago. I stopped for a while to take a break, then I decided to draw again because I saw this one that I drew of Kai of Exo.
I always want to draw him perfectly, so this is my time to re-create it again, and I am so excited about it. This is one of my favorite drawings, I recreated it, actually.

As I always do, I drew the proportion first to make it easier to draw the line art.
Then I carefully went through the line using my 2B mechanical pencil.
Time to add the shade to the drawing, to do that, I am going to use some charcoal and a brush.
I lightly layer the whole drawing using it. This helped tone up the drawing.
After layering it with powdered charcoal, I like to outline it with darker graphite, pencil, and then start layering it again with powder, charcoal.
I keep building up the shade of it until I am satisfied with it. I like to start where the shadows are.
Then, just render the other part like the background. I like to make it darker to make his hair more noticeable and to the drawing in general.
To add a highlight, I am going to use this retractable eraser and erase where the highlight is. I like to do the hatching method for this part.

Finish it with my signature and his name on the side for future reference, I guess lol.
I like how the drawing turns out. I get better at shedding and adding shadows. I hope you like it, thank you!
