S.P.A.M. stands for Sulit Pinoy American Meals. This is located in this business establishment just beside the Paoay Church grounds. I like how they designed it in keeping with the architecture of the church. There are cafes, bar, restaurant and souvenir shops here. Sort of a mini mall if you will. The building is nearing completion when we were there and it is not fully occupied. There are still lots of vacancies.
We were looking for something to eat after our visit to the church and decided to try S.P.A.M.
Good thing the place is airconditioned because the heat outside can be unbearable. It is a refreshing welcome which makes you at ease. We were the only customers then so it's free seating. The high ceiling and glass doors and windows gave the room a spacious look and well lit environment.
We ordered Mushroom Loco and Barbecue Classic for the burgers and added Nachos to our order. These come with ice trea drinks which was served right away while waiting for our burgers. The ice tea is not cold and the few ice cubes are the ones that gave it that coolness. Each of the burgers comes with potato chips which are crisp and crunchy and not salty at all.

The Mushroom Loco is messy, the sauce is all over the plate that I have to eat it layer by layer with spoon and fork. Taste is okay. There's nothing special. The bun is dry. The sauce helps in that. The pieces of beef are okay and soft, easy to chew.

Barbecue Classic has better presentation. Accoding to my partner it is just okay. The cheese easily crumbles and it was a thin slice. The beef patty not tasty but still okay. The vegetables put in there are minimal but fresh.

Although the burgers are not bad, the burgers sold on the streets taste better and they are cheaper. These are double the price of those sold on stalls that we see on the sidewalk. These need a lot of improvement.

Their nachos are not that good. It is thin such that the beef dip/mix made them soggy right away that's why we had to eat those quickly. There are a few added ingredients.
"Sulit" means "worth it" and Pinoy is a slang for Filipino. It's not that "sulit" at all. The food quality is not worth the price. It should be a cheaper. The staff and ambiance are good but food is not that great.
