This is a description of the items that are currently implemented in Steempunknet. None of them have descriptive texts at the moment.
These are my proposal for, well, “items” item texts.
( mods: I have been told for a different description text that it should be put into “copywriting” even though it has nothing to do with ads, so I do it now.)
Energy Shield
When people hear the words energy and shield together, they are thinking about some magical, invisible wall that stops all attacks. Of course that is totally wrong. That does not work. You would need a generator bigger then yourself for that to work.
Instead this energy shield is build from shiny metal that allows currents to flow at the outside, creating a strong magnetic field, generated by a comparably small generator on the backside. This field does indeed stop bullets or slows them down, as long as they are magnetic, but only for the size of the metallic shield.
Welder’s Magnifying Goggles
Sometimes a welder just connects two heavy beams of steel. But at other times he may have the need to do a bit of fine work. Then those goggles come into play.
Their unique glasses allow the wielding welder to see the finest structures even in blending light. An adaptive filter system marks spots with unusual characteristics. Treasure hunters also use them for finding the rare stuff.
It is not advised to use the goggles in formal meetings, since you could use them to read reflections in windows etc. and using them is considered a strong sign of distrust.
Top Hat of 1000 Senses
If this top hat is put on a table, some people think it is an oversized cup of coffee when they first see it. After realizing that this is wrong they are often very embarrassed, but they don’t need to.
The reason is that this top hat has quite the same effect as a cup of extra strong coffee, making the wearer more concentrated. As a result the wearer finds more things.
How this works is a total mystery. Some speculate it has something to do with quantum.
Old Floppy Hat
Old people like hats. Especially old hats. But hats, like old people, tend to be less springy after a few decades. This is particularly true for hats whose owners worked long years with steam engines. The hats always get soaked. What was once a proud, sturdy hat now looks more like a heap of leaves. But even old leaves protect you somewhat from the weather, and that is oven more true of old hats who have seen it all.
