This week, my daughter 
and I are on a rather impromptu road trip to Maine to see some friends.
We have been having a wonderful time, even in the thick of this abnormally hot heat wave. Seriously, it's hotter here in Maine than it was in North Carolina when we left. Of course, the heat doesn't affect us southerners as badly as it does the Mainers. But still, air conditioning is a miraculous invention!
The small town where our friends live is called Warren, and we are staying right on Main Street, which has a cafe, an antique store, a church, and a library. I think that's it. I love small towns!
