We build castles based on assumptions. We take for granted things, facts, feelings, knowledge, and in reality, we never have any certainty. But we just repress ourselves. We choose a path, and we refuse to change it due to fear of our own change, in front of which we oppose all kinds of resistance. We are conformists (for not admitting that we are cowards), and we believe we are owners of the absolute truth, even knowing that it does not exist. We behave as if our speech was supreme, and in our eagerness to hoard everything, we even speak blindly for each other.
But all is not lost, and it is those who believed, and who continue to do so, that in the human essence there is something of benevolence, which makes us at some point rethink in what position we are facing the world. Although perhaps, it may also be that in reality the environment forged us to rethink our own existence, and we are forced to change for the mere instinct of survival.
According to Freud, there is a concept that is called "projection" and that ultimately is a very archaic defense mechanism, according to him, that would imply attribution to another (this "other" "it means that it can be to another person, or even to an object) of qualities, feelings, desires, that the subject rejects or does not recognize of himself. Which is very curious, if we think about it, it has a lot to do with our daily life. How many times have we heard that "the other is my mirror", or the also known "Law of the mirror".
To tell the truth, even if it is a story that has already taken a couple of centuries, it is still valid today. Clearly, we have not learned yet. Or at least, not at all. And those that we can not really learn, is to accept ourselves, as we are, in order to accept others.
Understand that we do not have control over everything. We can not even assume that the sun will come out tomorrow, because it may rain and not come out *, and even then the issue of "getting out of the sun" is debatable.
Perhaps, our purpose in this world is not to suppose only. Maybe we have to encourage ourselves more, cross paths and see how it is on the other side.
