I really like this quote by Elon Musk and I use it when helping other Entrepreneurs hire Virtual Assistants. While talent, experience and skill sets are VERY IMPORTANT, it's not just about what the resume looks like. It's just as important to make sure the personalities of management and staff vibes well together. Someone may have the skills that you are looking for, but if you butt heads constantly, you won't accomplish what you should be able to accomplish on paper.
Work with people who you enjoy spending time with. You have many hours each day with that person and a company's culture is just as important as talent.
