Who uses tumbler composter? What type have you used and what did you think of them.
I don't actually use a tumbler composter to make compost as odd as that sounds I use them to prep worm food. What I mean by this is I don't add any carbon to my tumbler composters I only add feed stock. The purpose of this is to get the feed stock threw a hot cycle so it does not heat up my worm bins and also to get a good mixture of the feedstock before it goes into the bins and not feed large amounts of anything but a little of everything.
I have a Jora hot composter which I do really like. It is insulated on the inside and is over all really nice but I would have liked the insulation to be covered on the inside with another layer instead of just being the inside walls. It does rinse off really easy though.
I also use a Mantis Original Composter. This one is really nice on the size side of it holding 168 gallons. It is not insulated but does still hot compost since the mass inside the bin is so large. It also really helps that I have a huge amount of nitrogen in the tumblers like coffee, fresh cut grass and lots of veggie scraps that really help heat it up.
I actually use a Aerobin insulated hot composter also but that is used for actually making compost since my tumblers are all being used for making worm food.
In my opinion both of these composters are nice but are a little over priced and if you keep your eyes open you may find them second hand somewhere. I have seen several Mantis composters on craigslist this year for as little as $40 and that is a still at almost 1/10th the original price depending on the model.
