Yesterday was a day of some pretty long activity for me. I got busy and did not get a chance to post the report, so I'm posting it today.
I started out riding down to a disc golf course with my friend. We put our bikes in the back of his truck so it was not as far to ride (perhaps around twenty five miles round trip.)
He ended up drafting off of me the enter trip both ways. I was on the lowest pedal assist setting on my ebike but I had to keep looking back and seeing if he was keeping up with me.
We were fighting a bit of a headwind on the way back from playing the eighteen basket disc golf course.
The disc golfing was really fun. We didn't keep score again but just talked and enjoyed the woods while playing. My friend noticed this nice mini zen garden like growth on top of an old log that I took a picture of here:
When we first arrived at the course there was a new sign that said something about this being a paid area and it was $5.00 to be there. I was a bit worried about getting a ticket when a police officer showed up. I went over and asked the officer about the fee and if we needed to pay it since we rode our bikes to the park. He said that he did not no about it but we were fine and he was busy and did not want to talk.
Apparently there was some parked car he was dealing with. As we were playing we noticed a fire engine and an ambulance show up. My guess is that someone in a parked car was having some type of issue.
It was odd to me to see a sign about having to pay a fee but not having any information about how to pay it. There are so many street people around here I'm wondering a bit if it is a way to discourage people from being in the park.
The day before this we were playing at another disc golf course and noticed three people sleeping in the park during the day. They were looking like homeless folks. I guess they don't have a lot of things to do.
After the ebike ride I was settling down for a nap but my son got some new discs that he wanted to try out. They were really nice putters. We went down to the local park and played another round of nine baskets and I scored four over par. (Not my usual score but alright considering how I felt.)
Today I am feeling a bit tired so I'm not sure if I will do much.
