My son and I played a difficult eighteen hole course that we had not played since the last tournament. The conditions were hard with some gentle wind, wet ground and colder temperatures.
The colder temperatures makes more grip issues with the wet discs. We did not score all that well and I lost by two points. For the conditions I was happy with the round. Neither of us came close to losing any discs and this was a big plus. The course can be very unforgiving if you can't land in bounds.
I had several throws that were feet or inches away from landing in bounds. Things don't fly the same when your cold and the air is cold too. It seems like they fly with less glide and a bit more stability but I'm not that sure.
My close distance putts were feeling very good for a change and I was happy about that. All in all it was great to be out on the course again.
We may be heading back out to Colorado soon. The passes are looking a bit snowy but at least we have chains in case we get stuck. I really like the fact that the Les Schwab tire store will let you take the chains back in the spring if you don't use them. I've bought a fair amount of tires from them over the years because the first time we moved here they repaired a tire for free.
Taken from the car on the way back from the disc golf course:
There is still a lot of standing water around here where it usually is bare ground. This is in the middle of a farmers field. The birds really like it.
We saw a lot of different birds out in the valley today. Vultures, eagles, swans, crows, and hawks. There was an owl out in the yard a couple of days ago too. There was a bit of a, "hey Doggie don't feed the birds," moment then, lol. Doggies is probably a bit big for an owl but you never know how hungry something is.
