Thailand. No one will deny that this land is richly endowed with natural gifts. I am glad we decided to see its beauty too.
There is no direct flight to Thailand from my country, so the flight turned out to be a bit tiring. We left Vilnius airport at 7:00 a.m. Goodbye, my snowy country. We will meet not so soon, only when it gets warmer.

It was a long awaited trip. Our people discovered this country for vacations a long time ago, but I postponed and postponed it, finding other directions for our vacation. Anyway, more and more familiar people are going to see the beauty of this country, so the time has come for us also. We planned our one-month trip. As we both with my husband have an opportunity to work remotely, there was no problem with longer vacation plans.

We landed in Helsinki and had to wait for the fly to Bangkok. We were hungry, so we took an easy meal in one of the cafes of Helsinki airport and we were ready for another flight. Of course, I was excited to reach our destination as soon as possible.

Finally, we saw our big bird through the window. The plane was truly great. A twelve-hour flight awaited us. It was a shorter flight compared with if we had decided to fly for a change of plane in Turkey.

The staff gave us lunch. Usually it has a very strong smell. This time it was a smell of garlic. I do not love eating meals on the boar. I do it if the flight is very long. But I always have some snacks with myself and buy only coffee or tea. As the flight this time was long, I tried the food a little and bought coffee for my snacks.

Usually, during long flights, I watch podcasts or read something and then fall asleep for 3-4 hours. I have done it now too. My sleep is never tight and comfortable in a strange place, so I did not expect a good rest on the plane.

In the morning, we got coffee, juice, and Finnish chocolate for breakfast. I didn't want to have a heated omlete because I really have a high demand for this dish. On the aircraft, it does not match it.

So many hours have passed from the start of our journey. I fell asleep three times, but still want to sleep. And here we started landing. It's 05.20 am. In my country it would be just about two hours of night.
We arrived at Bangkok International Airport, Suvarnabhumi. It is still a bit hard to get used to pronouncing these names. But what a happiness it is to finally reach the ground.

With a tour, it’s more convenient in terms of transport, everything is bought for you, there shouldn’t be any overlays. On vacation, this is the most important thing - don’t strain yourself. But this time we decided to go on our own.

We don't need a visa, we do not need any more corona virus tests, we don't need anything - all the procedures were quick. There are a lot of SIM card sellers at the airport and almost all of them are with unlimited internet, almost all of them 5 G. However, it is very annoying that you can only pay in cash.

And here we are on the street already. Outside it is 27°C, and this heat met us in the early morning. Since we booked a hotel through a booking site, not through an agency, we searched for a taxi.
We moved to Bangkok Marriott Hotel, The Surawongse. It was too early to get a room straight away, at 7.00 am., or you pay extra. We had to pay. The room was very simple, but there was everything that we needed for the night's sleep. Anyway, we planned the day to spend outside.

There was no time for leisure in our plans, but we were excited to get some morning refreshment in the pool and then move to explore the city. The pool was on the 18th floor. It was an early morning still and the sky was without sun, but it did not prevent me ftom swimming.

And a quick breakfast before we go on our trip to the city. I so wanted Asian tastes that I wanted to try everything. Or maybe we were too hungry after the food on the plane.

So, finally we were ready to go and explore Bangkok. And we started, of course, from the Grand Palace. The Royal Palace (Grand Palace) is the visit card not just of Bangkok, but of the whole Thailand. Therefore, when we were planning a trip to Thailand, this was the first place in Bangkok that we scheduled to visit. But the review of this place you will find in my other post.
