One year ago I was creating my account on Steemit!
How it all begun!?
It's almost like the story of: "A friend of a friend told a friend..."
In this case it was that was told about Steemit. He joined at the end of July of 2016 and I kept ignoring him for two-three more months!
He was all fascinated and was constantly speaking of it, but I couldn't care less as I was finishing my master thesis last summer, and I could not have a new distraction! After I deliver the thesis I start to have some spare time...and start looking for posts and interactions and finding a new world. People were nice and helpful, I loved it!!
So one night, a year ago, I was scrolling on Facebook and I got bored and I decided to register my account on Steemit. He said I should write a "#introducemyself" post. I didn't know what to I write, or even how to write without spelling mistakes!!
What value could I add to Steemit!?
I spend one week wondering what I should say about myself that could be interesting. More than that, what would I write and share on Steemit after that??
I thought I know about biological sciences so I could write about it, sometimes I do, but it requires a bit more dedication and time. Then I started with my SundayCooks, joined the first SteemitCulinaryChallenge and even won the second place!!
When I start gathering followers...people that I didn't know, it was a great surprise. I could talk to people from Chile, Canada, Indonesia, Netherlands, Germany, Brazil, New Zeland and so on!! I was so amused that I wrote a post about my achievements in the first 30 days: My first month on Steemit! What a ride!!.
Today is also an important day because I reached the 1,000 SP and 60 reputation during this night (for me it's s huge thing). I must thank you all who support me and interact with me, and making this community even better!
Since then my creativity has increased a lot, I have a lot of pending ideas for posts...that I'll keep bringing from time to time.
About three weeks ago I reached 1000 followers, I would not expect it one year ago.
I just powered up some of my available Steem, allowing me to officially be recognized as a 'Dolphin'!! Not that I care much about my status, but I found 5.000 SP a comfortable number and a goal I could achieve! If you don't know what I'm talking about, maybe you're interested in understanding what means to gain SteemPower STEEMIT 101: What's a Minnow, Dolphin, Whale, etc. Anyways? A massive thank you for the followers that kept being supportive!!
I'm thankful for this last year on Steemit!
Due to Steemit:
- I got into the crypto world, and even I'm not an expert...I'm much aware now!
- I lose the fear of writing in English, I love it actually!! Despite I can write in my native language, I'll keep practicing English!
- I will attend Steemfest! I have everything booked and will finally meet some of my fellow steemians. I'm pretty excited about it!!
So excited that today when visiting Lisbon I was already wondering the places you probably will love to visit!! Here's one of the most popular - Praça do Comércio
