Thousand people from all over the world come to the Eternal City to see the 26-m high baroque masterpiece The Trevi Fountain designed by Italian architect Nicola Salvi.
The fountain is situated in the heart of historic center that should not be missed by anyone visiting Rome, exactly at the meeting of the three roads (tre vie). It is open 24 hours a day and is free for all visitors.
I recommend to visit it after the sunset because it is not so crowded and you will see it in the spectacular lighting.
This breathtaking site has been featured in several excellent films, including Federico Fellini's La Dolce Vita.
When you in Rome is there anything more charming than closing your eyes, tossing a coin into the waters of the world famous Trevi Fountain and making a wish with the beloved person by your side? I dare to say no :)
FUN FACT: An average €3,000 is thrown into the Trevi Fountain on a daily basis. The money is used to subsidize a supermarket for Rome’s poor.
Which place do you consider the most romantic place in the world?
Stay awesome and Steem on!
