Today the Golosfest (from russian media blockchain) was held in Kyiv. And since the organizers of this event were from Russia everything went very well in Russian style.
Fest was opened with the speech of the Deputy Minister of Ukraine on Information Policy and she told about the importance of freedom of speech in the modern world, about technologies that make it possible to unite people and spread information, that distortion of information becomes a method of struggle.
She told that she herself left the occupied Crimea in 2014 and than about the 18-year-old Crimean girl, who was fined $ 5,000 for a pro-Ukrainian post. About how they collected this money from all over city and brought 140 kg of collected money to the KGB of the Russian Federation.
About the fact that the Russians draw on the new banknotes the Crimea landscapes, in every way trying to instill in the consciousness that the Crimea is part of Russia, although throughout the world it is recognized only by the countries completely dependent on the Russian Federation - Belarus, Venezuela, North Korea ...
And then the broadcast on the Internet was interrupted ... first for technical reasons, and then it turned out "for political reasons."
For such is the freedom of speech in Russia, that it is not simply forbidden to broadcast the truth there. Russians do not want to know the truth about what is happening in Ukraine or in the occupied Crimea. "For political reasons" they need to remain ignorant.
The whole Ukrainian part passed in the Internet silence, but as soon as the Russian one began, everything was suddenly fixed, because the whole world should hear the Russian part - this is the most important thing - the Russians came to Ukraine, which they consider to be their province to speak, not to listen.
It is noteworthy that the speaker himself, for whose sake everything was fixed and who "participated" on Skype, the day before was not admitted to Ukraine for violating Ukrainian laws.
And on this occasion in his blog disrespectfully spoke about many Ukrainian citizens. But after all money does not smell and nevertheless it is necessary to win hearts of people for the sake of money.
I think it's a shame. I was extremely unpleasant about all the attitude of Russian media blockchain creators to this event from the very beginning. But I did not expect such hypocrisy and such distortion of the event, this disrespect for Ukrainians, to whom they came and who want to do business with.
I know that this could be a positive and pleasant event, where people who are familiar on the platform could meet, get acquainted and communicate, but instead it was turned into some sort of party propaganda. However, where else to take another experience?
And unfortunately I have to write what I saw.
Only questions arise.
Is blockchain about the fact that every voice is important and everyone can speak out?
Is blockchain about freedom of speech and about the blurring of borders?
Is blockchain uniting people and giving them equal rights?
At least this situation cannot be kept secret.
And it is crucially important for Russians to start respecting Ukrainians if they want our relationships to change one day.
