Hi Steemians,
Have you had Korean BBQ? A lot of my Aussie friends haven’t so I thought I’d share this experience here.
I love a good Korean BBQ, the concept is you have to cook the food yourself.
This is what your table looks like. You have a hot pot with stock on the side for boiling your own foods (vegetables, seafood, meatballs etc) or you have a hot plate in the middle for grilling your own meats with an air vent to suck up the smoke.
Singapore has so many dining options we don’t usually frequent the same place twice, however Manbok in Chinatown has the best Korean BBQ Buffet so far in terms of taste and quality.
Here’s a sample of some of the food options. There are pre-cooked dishes you can choose whilst you wait for your food to get cooked. Their chicken wings are delicious! There’s also sushi and Korean noodles.
There are marinated meats where you select and bring back to your table to cook. There is a mixture of beef, chicken and pork full of Korean flavours.
Seafood and veggies where you can either grill or boil.
Selection of condiments such as kim chi, pickled cucumbers and tomatoes.
Sauces, chilli, garlic, spring onions for dipping.
More sauces and lettuce where you would put your cooked meat inside, wrap it up and eat it with some sauce.
This is us cooking our dinner at the table. Usually we would use their provided scissors to cut the meat into bite sized pieces to wrap inside the lettuce. Delicious!
I snuck a photo of the owner (I think) as he is super friendly and always remembers us.
If you’re in Singapore or visiting, I recommend heading to Chinatown and dining here. We’ve taken many guests who have left very full and happy with the overall food and service.
I love how this meal brings people together. You cook together, mingle and enjoy a unique and delicious experience.
Enjoy!
