Nowadays, we are all concentrated not on our offline lifestyle, but on social-media which is surrounding us through our devices over and over. The most famous apps in my iPhone are Facebook, Messenger, LinkedIn, Instagram, Snapchat, YouTube, Viber, WhatsApp etc. I noticed that most of them are making me feel "I should check it'" and I came up with rules, which will help you to stop using "time-eaters" so often.
First Use 5 minutes time and change the position of all often-used social media apps to different folders on your phone. You can replace them with iBooks, Calendar, Weather of Calculator or even better - what I did, I replaced social-media apps with DuoLingo, Tiny cards, Tandem and many others applications, which I am using for self-education.
Second Go to your cell-phone setting or each specific application settings and turn off all unnecessary notifications (such as comments, friends online, friends live etc.) which you may receive often. It will help you not to pay attention to red numbers over the right corner of any application you have.
Third Turn off 3G internet connection to social-media apps, so they will not disturb you while you are away from Wi-fi spot, walking, driving, meeting friends, doing sports or shopping.
Fourth Make sure that you are using "Do Not Disturb" option on your phone while you are sleeping. Take care of your tranquility.
Fifth Spent minimum 1 hour per day outside without of your phone. Daily walks will improve your health state.
