Hiding in the shadows, always trying to maintain its state of being at any cost, the pain body lunges forward at times when we least expect it.
For those unaware of the existence of this side of our being, the pain body is a destructive force that keeps us locked away in the prison of our own minds, creating depression and even suicide at times.
Most of us live in this state of mind constantly, allowing it to sow havoc every day, making life or even the smallest situations unbearable at times. Seeing pain where there is in fact beauty and opportunity. The pain body blinds us, quite literally.
It is the very voice that stops us from becoming all that we can. The voice that speaks of fear, of pain of what if’s, if only’s. The voice that’s shouts our insecurities loud and clear.
Life and its situations are often mirrors of what needs healing on the inside. One of our main purposes on this plane is to dissolve the harmful traits or programmes that exist within us and to reach our true potential as human beings.
When a situation arises, we get so caught up in the pain body that we cannot see the trigger, the opportunity passes, only to arise at a later stage. This energy boomerangs around and comes back time and time again.
If you have started the process of becoming the watcher, you will start seeing these patterns that emerge and thus be able to start working on them in order to heal and dissolve them. If you are still unaware of the state of being of “The Watcher”, you will be reactive, confrontational and see everything as not your fault and maintain the “victim mentality” where everything is happening to you and you’re not to blame.
When in actual fact we are responsible for how we act or react to something. We have the power and ability to have the choice of how to respond to situations and how they affect us. Humans beings were created as very powerful beings, but as we go through this illusion called life, we lose sight of that ability and power that lay beneath the pain body.
How this process works is truly fascinating? As I mentioned before, when you are unaware, this pain body will cause lots of pain and anxiety, but when you start practicing the process of actively watching your thoughts and actions, you are in fact training the brain and creating new neural pathways, which in turn creates different responses and starts shifting the person you currently are.
When you are in a state of awareness, you are able to catch your reactions and emotions when they spiral out of balance or “control”, by taking a step back and watching and asking the questions of why am I reacting in this way, why do I feel insecure, what’s scaring me about this?
This process can not be successful unless you become brutally truthful with yourself, which is not an easy thing initially, especially when your ego stands up to justify your actions or your reactions. Staying present is crucial. Appreciating the moment you are in and keeping the mind present, not wondering to the past or future.
