Russian is a highly phonetical language; it means that we read words as they're written, but there are certain rules about Russian phonetics you need to learn in order to sound natural. One of this rules is VOICING IN CONSONANT CLUSTERS. It means that consonants that stand together afeect each other in the terms of voicing or unvoicing each other. The rule is: when two consonants are walking, the second one does the talking, it means that the second consonant determines the sound of the first one. Look at all the examples I give in the video and try to repeat after me, you'll notice the difference in voiced and voiceless consonants.
