I'm not a fan of Lego and was quite surprised when I dropped by my local Lego store a while ago and saw how different things are nowadays. The last time I checked, in 'my days', Lego blocks were mainly used to build structures, but now the objects are a lot more 3D and real life.
Is this a groovy Winnie the Pooh or an actual cartoon character? I don't watch any cartoons so I wouldn't know.....
Here are some of the real life objects I mentioned early on. They're called Lego Ideas, a program where users ie Lego fanatics design and build their own Lego objects. These are submitted to Lego and people vote for their favourite projects. Successful ones are produced and sold commercially as Lego sets.
Two of my favourite in the store is this piano and the typewriter. Unfortunately, they were kept in a see through box for protection and I couldn't get a better picture of them. However, you can get an idea of the details. For example, the piano is made of 2798 Lego parts with moving parts including the keyboard, and a stool and adjusts in height.
The typewriter, for those of you younger ones who have never seen a real one before, was just released in summer this year. Literally, a month before I visited this store. When you press any of the keys, the corresponding type bar rises in the middle and the carriage moves as well, just like a real typewriter. You can even insert a piece of paper in the roller. I think it's a real beauty and just genius on how someone can build a moving typewriter from Lego bricks. No wonder this costs £180, nearly US$250!!! Expensive, but I think it's worth it.
The other ones I really liked are these Lego flowers, they're so intricate. I don't know if they're also part of the Lego Ideas creation.
And now to reveal the answer to the November PUD Guessing Contest. The challenge was to guess how many tomatoes I harvest this year. The answer is 1️⃣4️⃣
There was quite a wide range of answers this month, from 10 which is what you could see in the photo I shared ( you didn't allow for any additional ones!!!) to 17 (
