If you have never had this lovely plant in your garden, then you should really consider it.
It is fondly called the Inca Lily, but the proper name is alstroemaria.
It comes in a variety of colours - deep reds, orange, white, pinks and purples and once planted in the garden, it multiplies giving a lovely display.
As a cut flower it is gorgeous and looks beautiful in a vase.
It likes a position with sunshine - but not too hot and will grow in semi shade too.
Feed the soil with plenty of organic compost as it likes a fertile soil and it will then reward you with masses of blooms.
After flowering, you can divide the clumps and replant in other areas in the garden amongst other perennial plants.
