So things aren't getting much clearer in the election. Campaigning is uneasily suspended though I hear things should get back to "normal" tomorrow morning.
I'm more drawn to this concept of creating space for meaningful conversation though. And it goes beyond pure "politics". The kinds of open conversation we have need to be had about lots of things. Another way of saying that is that the ordinary conferences we have are bullshit and do nothing to actually help anyone except the people who run them.
So here 'tis.
Once we're through the election, I'm planning to broaden the product range. I'll be continuing to do political conversations, perhaps "Political Daze".
The other big subject is the "Future of Work" - I did some events last year around these, they were popular and we've moved even further towards blue- and white-collar automation since then. Then there's the stuff around men and women and how we interact with each other. How we can have better equality, equality that means more than just identity politics. And finally there's the tech stuff - blockchain, AI, VR/AR & IoT are changing everything in ways that make the introduction of the web look like kindergarten. So yeah. Lot's of that.
Talking, talking, talking. The things I'm working on mostly are how best to document; organise work that gets suggested within an event; and keep the networks alive.
