pastel de nata
This puff pastry cake with pudding is probably the best known biscuit in Portugal and was already produced before the 18th century by some monks of the Mosteiro dos Jerónimos (Hieronymus Monastery) in Lisbon. In 1834 the monastery was closed and the monks sold the recipe to a sugar refinery. This is how the historical story of this dessert began and has become a characteristic of Portugal.
Today I show you my vegan variant of it, because the original is not vegan at all...
The finished products were checked whether the ingredients were also vegan and are suitable.
Go on, just have a look at the pictures.
It was my first try. Soon more and much better ones will follow.
Bon Appetit
forgot to photograph the vegan pudding cream made with the soya milk....so sorry...
also I created a coffee pudding cream, which was at least with a caramelized cream the topping.
what you see is the caramel cream, on top of that I put the coffee pudding cream. Eating is faster than photographing sometimes...here you see it without the coffee pudding cream.

Bon Appetit
