Krimmel Waterfalls
Salzburg
It was Friday morning and we were leaving Lermoos. To see some other nice places and not to be so tired of long journey, we decided to split the journey to two days and stay overnight in Salzburg. That enabled us to visit Krimmel waterfalls which were on our way.
After some minutes of walking from parking place we got to the first part of the waterfall. We were totally amazed by the power which the water element was showing.
There were some tourist signs leading us still more up, we didn´t hesitate and followed them. After about 20 minutes we came to a view point where we got a view of the whole valley and another part of the waterfall. Through the noise of the waterfall, we almost couldn´t hear each other.
We continued walking the way up, it was much more steep and longer than up to the first view point. And suddenly, we were looking at the upper part of the waterfall.
It took us about 10 other minutes and we came to a spot where the river was changing to the waterfall. The scenery of the stones, snow and river was just perfect.
When we were going down, we had a short stop in the restaurant above the upper part of the waterfall and had some good lunch and hot tea. As our clothes was a bit wet from all the mist around the waterfall, we were quite happy to get back to the car and head to Salzburg.
It took us just several hours to get to Salzburg and as our hotel was located directly in the city center, we wen out immediately after checkin. Since it was heavily raining, we didn´t do much sightseeing, just quickly walked around the city center.
Maybe also due to the weather, the streets were almost empty.
However, the rain didn´t prevent us from exploring the city.
And we continued also the other morning.
We were walking along the streets of Salzburg city center, shopping for some typical delicatessen and absorbing the last pieces of Austria.
Before the noon, full of new experiences and Mozart kugeln, we set off our journey home.
