A Man Who Knows How To Die
Many a land are burnt
And many a man are born
Times and climes and nutriments are basked in,
And laid in the insatiable basket that is our wants
Hots and hurts, haunts and hunts
All chases our lucidity to an elusive city.
We eat, we're eaten, and for all our merriment
There, in snatches, arises some sufferment.
So there's good and there's ungood
Sweet and sour, goes on.
We are in the know, that the now would not forever tarry
That this journey has a friend standing at the tail end - death.
Why then do we always treat him with rebuff
When he puffs in?
We at some while can send him back home when he comes,
But why do we in trembling and sweats receive him
When it's the while we're sure his mission can't be laid off?
I've seen a bloke who was paid his visit at old age,
And another who received his early in life.
Old bloke sweated and shook butt-fashion
While younger bloke smiled in the last second as his soul was harvested.
That smile,
Tells of a bloke who knows how to die
Who knows to take life's sweet and sour
And to chase away the friend at the tail end - death
But when the death's mission cannot be laid off
Take him in like a babe,
Jolly and unperturbed
