Hey creative community and friends
I am joining in the let's draw cherries drawing challenge I think it is easy to pull off. Started with a simple curve and felt the joy immediately so I went on and I love seeing these characters unfold right before my eyes. Began with the basic outlines of two plump cherries and watched them come to life as I added their tiny, happy smiles.
The Lore of Cherry & Berry
Meet Cherry and Berry the inseparable besties who share a single stem and a dose of happiness They are the ultimate symbols of friendship. While Cherry (one on the left) is the more adventurous one, Berry is the calm listener who always knows how to make someone smile. They spend their days dancing in the breeze and welcoming every visitor to the garden with their infectious happiness.
My Creative Process
Focused on my clean and flat aesthetic while using my favorite vibrant markers to bring out the duo's personality. I am just so happy with how the colors pop
- The Sweet Shapes: Drew two plump circles connected by a delicate green stem to establish their "bestie" bond right away.
- Vibrant Hues: Layered bright red ink to give them that juicy, sun-ripened glow and a little yellow that makes them look so cheerful.
- Expressive Details: Added those tiny purple smiles and simple eyes to give them an instant connection with anyone who sees them. That was a little quick too
Watching it all come together quickly with a few basic colors and the simple shapes pop really made my day. I wanted to keep the design minimalist but filled with interest. I think the one stem idea created such a sweet connection and I love it.
