Have you ever looked at a photograph and immediately known who the photographer was? It happens a lot more frequently than you think.
Every photo is unique to the photographer. Each picture is like a thumbprint with telltale lines and shapes and colors. I find that I have even started showing a theme within my craft and can identify similarities between my photos.
That brings us to the 9th question of the PhotoPoll...
What style do you typically shoot? Do you favor a particular one and why?
There are innumerable ways to take photographs... abstract like the one above, black and white, minimalistic and geometric like the one below, candid portraits, surrealistic, etc. While it is beneficial to experiment with many different types of shooting styles, I find that many photographers tend to have a favorite or two!
So take a closer look at your photos and try to find a theme. What style do you typically fall back to?
Personally, I've realized that I'm a very "point-and-shoot" amateur that sits too often on Auto. I typically take realistic wildlife and landscape shots, but recently I've been playing more with portraits (hence my self-portrait series).
