After spending a bit of time at Bintulu, Sarawak. It is time to get back to Miri, and it will take another two hours and forty minutes before reaching Miri. So, the first thing to do is to head to the aquarium shop and see if there is anything that I can get before heading back.
I saw some crayfish in their aquarium. I've been wanting to upgrade my skill at rearing crayfish, which I find quite challenging in a way. I have not really mastered it yet.
Red coloured Crayfish
If you like red colour, this crayfish is an aquatic animal that you want to have in your tank.
After getting some crayfish, I went to Lorong Coffee to get some coffee before heading back. To get some caffeine in my blood, just to make sure I don't get sleepy on the whole 2 and a half hour drive to the city area. When I arrived at Bintulu, this was the first place I visited.
Some of the old pictures of Bintulu city. This city used to be quite small. But now, due to a lot of industrial as well as oil and gas development, Bintulu has slowly grown to become quite a vibrant city. Lots of new and modern shops are popping up here.
Got myself a cup of durian coffee. This is my favourite type of coffee. It has that distinct flavour that is not present in a lot of coffee.
After driving for around an hour, it was time for me to get some lunch. Getting hungry already after driving for a while. There is a restaurant that is famous for its prawns.
SING CHIONG RESTAURANT
This restaurant has been here for a couple of decades.
This restaurant is located in Bekenu, Sarawak. Bekenu is a small town that is located in the middle of Miri and Bintulu. They have famous prawn delicacies.
The little pool with its live fish inside, if you are interested in fresh fish. Usually, I don't eat any fish that are directly taken out of the tank.
Ordered a cup of the three-layered tea. This is one of the type of tea that you can order if you do visit Sarawak in the future.
The first thing I ordered is their noodles in delicious prawn soup. There are some fermented veggies inside that give it a slightly sour taste.
Baby corn with century egg. The egg is not from a century old but is placed in a safe place to be fermented till it turns dark and it is quite delicious. It is an aquired taste.
Finally, the prawn fried rice. The rice is a bit too sticky. Usually, for me, I prefer to eat fried rice whereby the rice is not that sticky.
