Good morning, my friends. How has your week been like? I am going to bring you on a tour of Marudi. This us a town that is located at around 1 hr and 50 minutes drive from Miri city. This was the original area that was Miri. This town is located deep in the jungles of Nortern Borneo. The road leading here to this town is winding and it definitely test your driving skill.
There is a new bridge that connects Miri to this town. In the past, to get to this town, you have to cross the river in a ferry.
I arrived at a well known restaurant.
Lots of toys.
The shops
Many of the shops that are here are still owned by the original owners who are in their senior years at the monent.
The Marudi waterfront
This is a newly built area which is a tourist attraction at the monent. This town is home to around 20k.
The main town area
Lots of the shops and houses here still retain the traditional building structure and asthetics.
Mural art
Painted on the wall is this mural art work which depicts the locals making food.
The traffic here is not too heavy so you can have an easy stroll around the town.
The famous Marudi Kueh Tiaw
A type of noodle that is made in Marudi with thick noodles and stir fried to perfection. An egg at the top adds extra flavors to this dish. Yummy indeed.
Thank you very much for reading my post. Have a wonderful day ahead.
