The market

Sarawak has lots of nice markets that sell all sorts of different type of food. Marinated chicken wing being grilled.

Smoke is in the air

Wow.. the barbequed satay ( meat on a stick) that is being smoked. This stall is quite popular. I was super tired so I did not manage to record any videos which usually, I would do.

She is a good cook. Just by judging at the thick smoke and the way she manages it.

The burnt taste adds to the delicious flavour. The location of this market is in Sarbekas. The food market here is quite popular. Quite popular among Bruneians who visit Miri.

The layered cake

The traditional Sarawakian cake. Layered and made patiently. A lot people come here to buy these cakes. These cake are legendary.

So many different colours available.

Different flavours indicate different taste and flavours. Super delicious to eat. These are all homemade. The baker usually spends a lot of time baking them. I think perhaps a couple of hours just being in the kitchen.

Most of these businesses in this market are small family business. It's great to support these businesses to help them have some income for their family. These cakes are also sold in the supermarket and some of them are processed and do not taste as good as these handmade ones. I hope that you enjoy reading this post.
