As I walk majestically into the city of Hive, I bow my head to all who have been here before me, those who are just joining like me, and those who will still join this moving train.
My first name is Onyinye which means 'gift', I am a wife and mother. A gift to my husband and family.
I came into the hive through my son's teacher.
This is my son whose name is Chima. He is very talented.
As petite as he is, he is in high school, loves to write, and draw, and is a lover of animals.
His teacher Introduced hive to me because of him, she is so much impressed with his essays and compositions at school and a way of encouraging him is to introduce me (his mother) to this beautiful platform since he is lesser than 18.
The plan is to be a guide to him here while he does most of the write-up and creativity and eventually hand the account to him when he is of age.
He is very creative, here are some of his artwork.
Last year's academic session, He was privileged to be featured in his school's maiden magazine, he wrote an article on a father marking the school's tenth Anniversary.
His hobbies are going on tour, reading, writing, drawing, making new friends and observing animals , haha because of this the only channel he loves to watch is a documentary film on animals, usually shown on Nat geo-wild, he knows virtually all the animals by name, even those I don't know.
After reading over the weekends, he is mainly occupied by drawing, he even wrote a storybook by himself, he created a fictional story and wowed his teacher.
We live in the city of Lagos, a city filled with hustlers, Chima is from an average family and is very content with his life. They say no one can make you feel inferior without your consent and I have taught him the value of self-esteem and contentment. I am a hairdresser and makeup artist by profession and he always assists me in the shop and at home, he helps to do the house chores like sweeping, and doing the dishes, and guess what? He knows how to cook, I taught him that cooking is not a gender role but a life skill.
My baby is selfless, thoughtful, intelligent, hardworking, and imperfect and sometimes displays the quality of being a child however, I am glad God gave this boy to me because he is truly a gift. I promised him a better future and I make sure I am working hard to give him the good things in life, because of this I have promised to use whatever little rewards he might encounter on this blogging journey to sponsor his education down to his university days while I add with the finance I make from the shop.
Though he isn't here for any reward, but for the love of what he does. He wants to be seen, read, and heard. As there are many people here who would appreciate his creativity as they share similar mindsets.
He said he wants to become an artist and a zoologist in the future, drawing and writing are inborn, So I would love him to study creative art in a vocational School while he studies Zoology at the university to be very good at it.
Chima has a grannie that is so fond of him and vice versa to the extent that he asked me to use her name as the username for this account which is Lydia Pauline and he always promises to make her proud, his favorite food is fufu and egusi soup, we are Nigerians.
His favorite color is blue, his favorite teacher is his present class teacher who never stops encouraging him to do better.
He always comes home with awards every session and that makes us proud at home.
This session, he would be graduating from Junior Secondary School to Senior Secondary School and he would be 2years closer to achieving his dreams.
I have the promise to ensure he enjoys his graduation party so much because he makes me so happy. Aside from that, I do take him out for tours and fun excursions.
A picture of us together when he was much younger.
I pray God keeps him alive and fill him with his grace.
Thank you for reading, now can you show us around? Where do we drop our clothes and shoes? Because we have come here and to stay. No leave, no transfer.
