Today I didn't go a very far distance because my shins are killin' me, however, I still wanted to get out and get some fresh air, mild exercise. Leave my comfort zone. I am so new in to this walking challenge that I can't take a day off yet. I figure it will take 21-28 days to make this a habit. Ingrain it into my mind and body.
I decided I'd go pay my neighbours a visit...
But first I had a visit, from my Mom-in-Law @MarionBowes (who joined Steemit a little while ago and made her first comment last night!). She has been reading the "WalkWithMe" blogs, was concerned about my shins and brought me 2 pairs of running shoes that she hardly used because they weren't very good for running (she runs marathons). Omg the shoes fit perfect and they're so much cozier than the pieces of garbage I was wearing LOL! Needless to say I'm super grateful.
Out the Door & Into the World
Outdoor tobacco plant gone to flower. Soon I'll show you what it looks like when it goes to seed.
Cosmos I planted later than the others, just starting to bloom now.
Gotta always say Bye to the Chooks!
This is one of my favourites, she is so beautiful and such a nasty **** to the poor chicks, her name is "The Queen".
"I am The Queen and I'm not amused by your shit."
Mr. Pendock is not very impressed with her poor attitude.
Through the Path...
As soon as we met Josh and Amy we hung out so much and were constantly going back and forth, so we cut a path for a shortcut to each other's houses. This way no one had to walk on the highway. It's safer for the animals and the kids, because one time my boys did go over there without asking! And their sweet dog Macy has come to our house without asking too :)
There's some 'interesting' things in the bushes...
Still some berries to be had...
At our neighbour's place...
I was surprised to learn that these flowers were from seeds I had given them LOL! They're from my Brown Eyed Susan's last year. These flowers are way more beautiful than mine. AHHAAA So awesome, and the other funny part is, is that I've tried growing them from seed at my place, and they didn't germinate. Well done Josh!
And I can never leave there empty handed...
I went home with a bunch of ground cherries. My first time trying them, they are absolutely delicious! The kids thought they were pretty cool too!
Thank you for walking with me again today. Here's one final flower. One of my sunflowers who grew up in the shade, and didn't get as big as his brothers and sisters, but now is outshining them all. The late bloomer...in all his glory.
I'd like to go on a walk in your neighbourhood too, so if you get out there for one, take a few pics, and post about your walk using the tag "walkwithme". I'll check the tag regularly to upvote and give encouragement. Let's get fresh air and fitness together!
