Phineas and Ferb, two characters side-by-side, one is cheerful and the other being sad… By drawing this illustration, I tried to depict the characters in the cartoon, where the two brothers go through various adventures during summer.
In short, the theme of the cartoon is; the projects of Phineas and his step brother Ferb. They are constantly disturbing their sister with their work. Candace, the sister, complains about these matters to her mother all the time.
Phineas Flynn (Left):
This character is a talkative and productive kid. He sings very often also he is cheerful and intelligent. Phineas used to say “Ferb, I know what to do today”. Another girl character, namely Isabella, is in love with him, but he does not know it. Contrary to Ferb, he is very active.
Ferb Fletcher (Right):
Ferb is Phineas’s smart but quiet stepbrother, and a little shy. But he is a mechanical genius. He gets along well with the girls and understands the girls better than his brother. On the other side, Ferb is in love with Doctor Heinz Doofenshmirtz’s daughter Vanessa. Phineas depends on him because, he builds Phineas’s ideas. He has a green-headed rectangular head and a square nose, wears purple trousers. It is known that he rarely spoke.
The story behind:
Well, this story can be fictitious, I came across it, while searching for a history. Thanks to wattpad, Ink Magazine and Anita's Notebook, since I learned the story from them. According to the tales, this cartoon is actually inspired from a true story. In the project, which was produced by Disney Channel, story topics are reflected from the notebook, written by a young girl named Candace. According to the story, Candace is a schizophrenic girl. She constantly tells her mother about what she sees and even tries to prove it. The things she tells are about her brothers, Phineas and Ferb. After some time, the mother takes her daughter to a doctor, when she understands that these stories are not real. During the medical treatment process, Candace was addicted to the drug that her doctor prescribes. And one day she dies because of an over dose.
After her death, her mother finds a notebook in her clothes. She notices that whatever her daughter was telling as an imagination, was actually written down in this notebook. The mother then takes this notebook to Disney Pictures to keep her memory alive. This is how the cartoon series “Phineas and Ferb” came to life.
For real?
On the other hand, interview with Dan Povenmire, one of the creators of the Phineas and Ferb series, doesn't mention such a story. Additionally the fan page at FANDOM, doesn't have any trace of the story above.
It may or may not mean a fake story. But i think there are some reasons for such stories to emerge, such as the need for drama.
