Meal Prepping!

One of the things that I struggle with while living by myself is certainly eating healthy with balanced nutrition. For some reason, I used to be good at it but eating healthy was way too expensive as I was pretty particular with my food. At the same time, I was also ignorant about a lot of healthier swaps and the โfakeโ healthy food which basically was packed with sugars. I can name a few things marked as healthy but really aren't like fruit bars. There I was, like other people who also think that eating healthy is expensive but it actually isnโt. The expensive part is dining out to buy a healthy meal which is pretty ironic. After being home for so long, I was living pretty healthily with my mom who buys the ingredients for me. So, it was much easier to decide because like I discussed in my previous posts, we tend to have those paradoxes of choices when the options are just too much. But recently, I am back on meal prepping and now I found a very reasonable place to buy my ingredients from.
As I was also running through the numbers on my spreadsheet, at the rate that I was doing, I would be homeless by next month. So, I decided to make some progress with the way I eat. Since I get bored easily and rarely eat, the option that I found from shoppee is pretty neat. They offer packaged fresh vegetables that can be cooked into various dishes. The price ranges from 0.26$ to 1.5$ depending on the type of the meal and ingredients that it has. These packaged meals are so easy to cook that you practically just put them on an electric cooker and they would cook by themselves ๐. Itโs really convenient and they are also a money saving hack as a day I would typically spend less than $3 on food. It was harder when I was living with my mom to eat that much but now, I can definitely save up more.
Though there are meal prepping tricks and tips out there,none of them worked for me. So I practically just invent my ways of doing things. Unlike meal prepping that requires you to know what you eat beforehand, I only plan 2-3 days in advance and add snacks that I actually eat and wouldnโt go to waste. In the past, I was following the other tips on meal prepping and I always ended up with quite a bit of waste. But now, catering to my own ways by just doing it 2-3 days, I donโt have any waste and itโs all enough for me including the ingredients that I have. I also think that meal prepping adds more hours in my life because I normally take 4 hours just to decide what to eat then end up not eating.
I think that with proper nutrition intake, it will be a lot easier to do day-to-day living and well, since I am trying to try adulting, apparently food is a priority which I often think that it isnโt, because to me, my priority is drinking a good coffee haha ๐
Another thing that Iโve been neglecting is also my vitamin and strict nootropics regimen. In the past, I was religiously taking it and safe to say, Iโve been quitting cold turkey to reset the effect.Now, I am slowly easing my way into it because after all, I am rather concerned about being deficient in a lot of vitamins due to my travels. When I was traveling, I was mostly saying goodbye to a lot of things except when I was in Thailand, I found a good handy herb like panax ginseng mix. There were also moringa but I was just missing the chemicals running into my body and weighing random powder ๐for experiment. So, itโs something that I need to be focusing on this month.
