Taken on the island of Koh Lanta, this is one of the more distinctive sunset photos I’ve snapped during my travels in Thailand.
Fiery canopy
This photo was taken from some rocks near my bungalow, on the west coast of the island. Since the view is due south, those fiery wisps of cloud were apparently not on the western horizon, but almost directly overhead.Golden hour, coming to you
When seen from the shore, the horizon is about 5 kilometers away. I cannot recall the scene on the horizon at this time, but we did not have to go looking for a vantage point from which to view the sunset.
On this evening, the Golden Hour came to us. In the enlarged photo, you can see that the glory of Golden Hour was all around us. Almost everything has an orange tint – the clouds, the sky, the water, the rocks, and the sand. Even the trees have a few points of orange among the dark leaves.
This is my entry in ’s GoldenHour Photography contest.
