Greetings, Hive!
Is it a chance or is it the same reasons pointing in the same direction? I'd rather bet on the later.
This is a powerful color combination. The one that Hive has adopted for its logo, and other branding purposes. PeakD as well. Although I saw a banner wit ha blue inscription on it. Dump the blue, people. Keep to these three colors, the gamma is self-sufficient.
While this here image is not amazing, it is a fresh one and one that conforms to a trend I started a year and a half ago. Did you know that I participated in an exhibition with such a deliberate choice? To keep to Black, White, and Red only.
Here's a small reminder ;) Yeah, I've shown it before.
And I have new samples that will appear soon. This is why I put a number 1 in the title. More to come, some of them almost ready.
But what else looks good in Red and Black and White?
My haiku award banner by , for one. My Hive signature by
. The traditional Bulgarian March Charms (A.K.A. Martenitsi) on my arm. Bank logos, I am sure you can think of some. The aggressive Mardu Horde clan of Tarkir in Magic: The Gathering and all the builds that use the same color combination. So much so that it has become a name for the whole gamma — Mardu. (Only for Magic: The Gathering nerds, all right. But who isn't one? You? Sorry...)
Well, now we have the chance to make Hive become the most popular of all.
Yeah, why not? Let us dream of and work for a world in which they call this Hive-Chromatic Photography.
When I was asked to write a short text, explaining why this was my theme of choice for that exhibition of the recent past, I said:
Red is the blood that still flows through the city's veins. It is the active aspect of an otherwise still environment. At least, that's my story for you.
Red, like the active force that we need. Guess who's defending your body from intruders.
Black, as power, style, wealth and...serious stuff. The classic color of the letters that build our Infosphere. All right, the new color might be green, since 0-s and 1-s look good in electric green. Or blue. But I sad classic, didn't I? If you've ever read American Gods by Neil Gaiman, or if you've watched the TV series, you will probably agree that the old gods, Votan and Chernobog, they probably use black and red to send their messages.
White as a new, clean start. Or blinding light. (Well, all those have their culture-depending symbolism as well, but let's not get carried away too much.)
I think I got carried away. Consider this a free write of uncensored and unedited ideas.
See you soon with Number Two.
Take care!
Yours,
Manol
