Good afternoon, my dearest readers in the #hive art community! Happy Friday to everyone reading this post. I hope you’re all doing great and, of course, had an excellent and productive week. Your friend Manuel is here once again, thrilled to share a new artistic post on my blog. This time, I wanted to bring you an illustration with a slightly freer style; I let my inspiration be my guide this time. Basically, I came up with the idea of creating a sort of woman or maiden made of ice, whom I named (Frannyalah); It is said that Frannyalah is a kind of magical entity that dwells in the icy glaciers in some remote corner of our world, and legend has it that the slightest breath from her mouth is capable of freezing a person in a matter of seconds… I hope you like this idea, and here I’ll leave you with part of the process so you can appreciate it much better:
Muy buenas tardes mis queridísimos lectores y lectoras de la comunidad artística de #hive, feliz viernes para todos los que se encuentran leyéndome por aquí en esta nueva ocasión, espero que se encuentren super bien, y que, por supuesto hayan tenido una excelente y productiva semana, por aquí los saluda una vez mas su amigo Manuel super feliz de poder compartirles un nuevo post artístico para mi blog. En esta oportunidad quise traerles una ilustración un poco más estilo libre, deje que mi inspiración fuese la guía esta vez, básicamente se me ocurrió crear una especie de mujer o doncella, del hielo a la cual llame por el nombre de (Frannyalah); se dice que Frannyalah es una especie de entidad mágica la cual habita en los helados glaciares en algún lugar recóndito de nuestro mundo, y cuenta la leyenda que el leve soplido de su boca es capaz de congelar a una persona en cuestión de segundos…espero les guste esta idea, y aquí los dejare con parte del proceso para que lo aprecien mucho mejor:

I started with a sketch of the main character, who in this case is Frannyalah. My idea for her was to give her a very distinctive style, which is why I drew her with long, straight hair. It occurred to me that she could be sitting on a sort of large block of ice or glacier to better capture her essence. Once the sketch was finished, I continued with the painting process. For the skin, I opted for a base of blue tones ranging from medium to a slightly darker blue. At this stage, I used my airbrush to start creating volume, and then watercolor to blend and soften the edges.
Empecé con el boceto del personaje principal, que en este caso sería la misma (Frannyalah), mi idea para ella era que tuviese un estilo muy particular, es por ello que la dibuje con una cabellera larga y lisa, y se me ocurrió que podría estar sentada en una especie de gran bloque de hielo o glacial, para así representar mejor su esencia. Al finaliza el boceto continúe con el proceso de pintado de mi obra, en el caso de la piel opte por una base de tonos azules de intermedio a un azul un poco mas oscuro, use en esta etapa mi pincel de aerógrafo para empezar a crea lo que seria el volumen, y luego la acuarela para mezclar y difuminar.
When it comes to painting the hair, I used slightly lighter shades of blue, created long locks with my square-tip brush, and then used my bristle brush to add texture to the hair, giving it plenty of volume and shine. Then, for the eyes, I used shades of blue and white to achieve a somewhat pearlescent and striking look; and for the lips, for example, I tried to paint them slightly more open to represent or convey the idea that icy breath would be emanating from there.
En cuento al trabajo del pintado del pelo use unos azules un poco mas celestes, cree una cabellera larga con mi pincel de punta cuadrada, y luego con mi pincel de cerdas fui creando lo que seria el relieve en el cabello, dándole mucho volumen y brillos. Luego para el pintado de los ojos use tonos azules y blancos para lograr una mirada un tanto perlada y llamativa; y para los labios por ejemplo trate de pintarlos un poco mas abiertos para así representar o dar la idea de que por allí brotaría el aliento helado.
For the outfit, I used shades of purple as the main base color. In this case, I decided to create a dress that hugged her silhouette, and on top of that, using shades of lilac and light blue, I created a second layer of fabric that looked like a high-necked jacket, giving the character a really cool and eye-catching style. Finally, I focused on creating some ice blocks using light blues and grays, as well as a large ice block on which the character would be sitting. Right behind Frannyalah, I formed a sort of vast frozen ocean to add a sense of depth to the piece.
Para la vestimenta use tonos morados como base principal de su ropa, en este caso se me ocurrió crear un vestido ajustado a su silueta, y justo sobre esto con tonos lila y azul claro cree una 2da capa de tela que fuese algo así como una especie de chaquea de cuello alto que le diese al personaje un estilo bastante genial y llamativos. Ya al final me enfoque de crear algunos bloques de hielo con azules claros y grises, así como también cree un gran bloque de hielo sobre el cual estaría sentada el personaje, y justo detrás de Frannyalah forme una especie de gran océano helado el cual diera un poco de perspectiva de profundidad a la obra.
