Good evening, my dear readers in the #Hive art community! Happy Wednesday and happy midweek, everyone. I hope you’re all doing great and, of course, having a wonderful and productive week. It’s your friend Manuel here again, super happy to share a new art post on my blog. This time, I’m bringing you an illustration in which I wanted to explore the theme of space a bit. In it, I came up with the idea of creating a kind of alien named (Jossant), a creature with mysterious powers, such as telekinesis, but his most powerful ability is to generate massive spheres with the intensity of a sun right from the palm of his hand… I hope you really like my idea, and here I’ll leave you with a glimpse of the process behind how I created it—I hope you enjoy it!
Muy buenas noches mis queridos lectores y lectoras de la comunidad artística de #Hive, feliz miércoles y feliz mitad de semana mi gente, espero que se encuentren super bien y que, por supuesto estén teniendo una maravillosa y productiva semana, por aquí los saluda una vez mas su amigo Manuel super feliz de poder compartirles un nuevo post artístico para mi blog. En esta oportunidad les traigo una ilustración en la cual quise tocar un poco la temática espacial, en ella lo que se me ocurrió fue crear una especie de alíen llamado (Jossant), una criatura con misteriosos poderes, como por ejemplo la telequinesis, pero su mas poderosa habilidad es la de generar grandes esferas con la intensidad de un sol justo de la palma de su mano…espero les guste mucho mi idea y aquí los dejare con un poco del proceso de como lo realice y espero que les guste mucho:
PROCESS / PROCESO
To start, I began by giving (Jossant)'s body some shape and structure. What I came up with was to create him with arms that had some volume and were quite elongated, a fairly rounded head, and ears like a troll or an elf. Once I had finished the sketching process, I moved on to coloring. In this case, I wanted to start with a greenish color palette to give some shape and volume to what would become Jossant’s body. Using an airbrush, I outlined the main volume, and with watercolor and a stiff brush, I defined the details and features of the face.
Para comenzar partí dándole un poco de forma y estructura al cuerpo de (Jossant), lo que se me ocurrió para el fue crearlo con brazos con cierto volumen y bastante alargados, con una cabeza bastante redondeada y con orejas como de troll o elfo. Ya habiendo culminado con el proceso de boceto me pase al proceso de coloreado, en este caso quise partir con una paleta de colores verdosa para ir dándole un poco de forma y volumen a lo que seria el cuerpo de (Jossant), con el pince aerógrafo centre lo que seria el volumen principal y con la acuarela y mi pincel duro fui definiendo los detalles y rasgos del rostro.
As for the eyes, I decided to use some yellowish tones for the base of the eyeballs—in this case, I wanted to make them a little elongated—and then for the inner parts, like the iris and pupils, I used red and dark brown tones; Another thing I did on the face was create a sort of large fang protruding from the upper left lip to give it a slightly more unique look.
En lo que respecta a los ojos decidí usar unos tonos amarillentos para la base de los globos oculares, en este caso quise hacerlos un poco alargados, y luego para la parte interna como el iris y las pupilas use tonos rojos y marrones oscuros; otra cosa que hice en el apartado de la cara fue crea una especie de gran colmillo saliendo desde el labio superior izquierdo para darle una apariencia un poco más única.
As for the clothing, I first used some brown tones to create a sort of rough, rudimentary pair of pants—something that looked quite old; then, using purple tones, I created a piece of fabric around the waist that reached down to the calves, but I also had a similar piece of fabric cover his shoulders like a sort of cape. To represent the energy resembling a large star or sun emanating from (Jossant)’s hands, the first thing I did was take the airbrush and create a sphere; then, using my finger brush, I stretched the edges out a bit while adding orange and red tones to give it some illumination.
En lo que respecta a la vestimenta primero tome unos tonos marrones para crear una especie de pantalón de tela tosca y rudimentaria, algo que se viese bastante viejo; luego con tonos morados cree una tela superior alrededor de la cintura que llegara hasta las pantorrillas, pero que también una tela similar cubriese sus hombros como una especie de capa. Para representar la energía con apariencia de gran estrella o sol que emana de las manos de (Jossant), lo primero que hice fue tomar el aerógrafo y crear una esfera, luego con mi pincel de dedo fui estirando un poco los bordes, mientras iba agregando tonos naranjas y rojos que dieran un poco de iluminación a la misma.
