Good morning, my dear readers in the #Hive artistic community! Happy Saturday to everyone. I hope you’re all doing very, very well and, of course, enjoying your weekend. It’s your friend Manuel here again, super happy to share a new artistic post on my blog. This time, I’m bringing you an illustration I finished just last night. It’s a depiction of the elemental dragons from the game created by my dear friends in the #Holozing community. This time, I wanted to focus on the water element, which is why I chose to illustrate the great adult dragon (TIDEROX). As many of you who already know the game will realize, is the second stage or evolution of the small dragon (TIDERION). They’re known for their underwater agility and their incredible speed when moving… I hope you really like this idea I came up with to depict this creature, and below I’ll show you a bit of the entire process:
Muy buenos días mis queridos lectores y lectoras de la comunidad artística de #Hive, feliz sábado para todos, espero que se encuentren muy muy bien, y que, por supuesto estén disfrutando de su fin de semana, por aquí los saluda una vez más su amigo Manuel, super feliz de poder competirles un nuevo post artístico para mi blog. En esta oportunidad vengo a traerles una ilustración que terminé apenas anoche, se trata de una representación sobre los dragones elementales del juego de mis queridos amigos de la comunidad de #Holozing; esta vez quise irme hacia el elemento agua, y fue por ello que elegí para ilustrar al gran dragón adulto (TIDEROX), el cual como muchos que ya conocen el juego sabrán, se trata de la 2da etapa o evolución del pequeño dragón (TIDERION), los cuales se caracterizan por su destreza de bajo del agua, y por su gran velocidad a la hora de desplazarse…espero les agrade mucho esta idea que se me ocurrió para representar a esta criatura y aquí abajo les mostrare un poco del proceso completo:

Well, since this time it was going to be a really big dragon, I wanted to draw it full-size to try to give the creature as much detail as possible. I started by building its body structure, focusing on adding a lot of volume to the central part of its body and slightly lengthening its neck compared to how it looked in the previous stage. Once I managed to capture my idea more or less in strokes, I continued with the process of coloring the dragon (TIDEROX). Here, I decided to use a sky blue as the base color, and then on top of this tone, I created a couple of layers in clipping mode to start defining the highlights and shadows, alternating the tones slightly to achieve a softer texture with my watercolor brush.
Bueno, como esta vez se trataría de un dragón de los grandes, lo que quise hacer fue dibujarlo a tamaño completo, para tratar de darle el mejor detallado posible a la criatura, empecé construyendo su estructura corporal dándole sobre todo mucho volumen a la parte central de su cuerpo y alargando levemente su cuello a comparación a como lo tenia en su etapa anterior. Una vez logre plasmar mas o menos mi idea en trazos, continue con el proceso de coloreado del dragón (TIDEROX), aquí decidí usar como color base un azul celeste, y luego sobre este tono cree un par de capas en modo recorte para ir definiendo un poco las luces, sombras, alternando un poco los tonos y así conseguir una textura mas suave con mi pincel de acuarela.
For the second stage, continue adding details to (TIDEROX)'s skin. Using pink tones, create a second layer of skin on the front, starting from the neck and extending down to the tip of its tail; then, for the dragon’s ears, use deep purple tones, and with the help of my watercolor brush, I created a slight wavy texture on the ears and the tip of its tail. For the eyes, I used slightly more yellowish tones; in this case, I decided to make them quite large to give the dragon a slightly friendlier personality; and for the mouth, I tried to sketch a small smile, which I also accompanied with two small fangs protruding from the creature’s upper lip.
Para la 2da etapa continúe agregando detalles a la piel de (TIDEROX), con tonos rosados cree una 2da capa de piel en la parte frontal que empezara desde el cuello y bajara hasta la punta de su cola; luego para las orejas del dragón use tonos morados intensos, y con ayuda de mi pincel de acuarela fui formando cierto releve ondulado en las orejas y la punta de su cola. En el caso de los ojos use tonos un poco mas amarillentos, en este caso decidí darle un tamaño bastante grande para transmitir una personalidad un poco mas amigable para el dragón; y en el caso de la boca trate de esbozar una pequeña sonrisa, la cual también acompañe con 2 pequeños colmillos salientes del labio superior de la criatura.
Then, using pink tones, I drew the horns on its head, but with slightly stiffer, square-tipped brushes. For the whiskers on either side of its mouth, I used light blue tones again, but this time I painted them with a soft brush using wavy strokes. For the final part, all that was left was to set the scene for my illustration, and since my idea was clearly to set everything in an underwater setting, I used a variety of blue tones ranging from light to dark. First, I blended the tones slightly to create depth on the canvas, then, using watercolor, I created a bit of movement to simulate the water in the depths of the ocean, as well as some bubbles floating around (TIDEROX).
Ya luego con tonos rosados me encargue de formar los cuernos sobre su cabeza, pero con unos pinceles un poco más rígidos y de punta cuadrada, y para las especies de bigotes que salen a los lados de su boca use nuevamente tonos azules celestes, pero en este caso los pinte con un pincel suave y con trazos ondulados. Ya para la parte final solo me quedaba ambientar un poco el escenario para mi ilustración, y como claramente mi idea era ambientara todo en un escenario submarino pues use una variedad de tonos azules del claro al mas oscuro, lo primero fue degradar un poco los tonos para crear profundidad en el lienzo, luego con la acuarela fui formando un poco de movimiento para simular el agua en las profundidades del océano, así como algunas burbujas flotando alrededor de (TIDEROX).
