Hey Actifitters,
Yesterday started with a visit to the vet for Kaia. Without X-rays, they couldn't confirm the issue but just like me, they're suspecting she tore her ACL. Since she already tore her ACL on the right leg, the chances she does the same on the left are high. But just in case it's not as bad, or just a partial tear, she put her on anti inflammatory pain killers for a month, along with rest. No running, no jumping, and very little walking. As you know, that's going to be a tough one for Kaia and me! Anyways, after the storms in the afternoon, I thought we could spend time in the yard where I can monitor she doesn't run too much. Le Chat was also monitoring...
Since Kaia looked somewhat calm, we slowly moved towards the small forest behind the front yard.
She wanted to go in but I didn't let her of course.
It was nice to see the sky clearing up after the heavy storms earlier. Our weather continues to be very changing. After summer temps for a few days, we're supposed to get closer to freezing the next couple of nights.
Le Chat joined us, the slow pace Kaia has to follow, is easier for Le Chat.
The vet said we could walk a little bit if it's easy terrain and slow, so we tried to roam in the neighborhood. But like the day before, it already seemed too much for Kaia.
So it was a really short walk and we just spent more time in the yard, admiring the light end of day colors in the sky.
Well, not a great news that Kaia is forced to rest for at least a month. I feel weird going for a walk in the neighborhood or forest without a dog. So I will have to find another way to keep my activity level up. Definitely running should be one, but that won't be sufficient, I'll find something else.
As always, thanks for stopping by and see you tomorrow.
