You need only three things to build muscle: healthy Glucose, mineral salts and exercise. No where in that list was protein. The need for protein is a myth you get enough in vegetables and fruits. You need sufficient calories to sustain physical activity, not animal products so consuming them is unnecessary and a matter of choice when the abundance of plants is available that would make it glutenous to consume animals. There is no humane way to consume animals period. If you don't care about them, than that is your expression and declaration to the world. It is different when it is a matter of survival and longevity is not your focus. But if you want to evolve to the next level, remove animal products from your diet.
