After cleaning everything and locking up the house, we started on our adventure.
We left Ganado at around 10:30 going West. It reminded me of my #steemfriends trip with and
. We had traveled the same road on our way to the Grand Canyon.
Then, we had stopped on the Hopi reservation at a cool looking place to use the restroom. I had set the intention to go back there and today was the day.
My plan was to have a late breakfast or early lunch there- same thing. It turned out to be an excellent plan!! The food was super delicious.
We also wanted to explore the museum and gift shops ( there were 4 of them!), when a lady came in and asked the clerk to call the police since a car had been hit in the parking lot.
I jokingly told my husband that he should go and see if it was our car. I stayed in because I wanted to buy some lip balm.
The police must have asked if someone was hurt. Her answer: “Not yet.”
That made me laugh.
Since my husband wasn’t returning and the clerk kept talking to the police, I went out to see what was going on.
It turned out that it was our car that got hit. According to a witness by a drunk dude trying to park and taking off when he realized that he hit the car.
The damage wasn’t too bad, there was no police in sight, nobody was hurt or about to get hurt - all was fine. We bought our lip balm and continued on.
We saw some of the most beautiful country driving on 89 North towards Kanab. So very, very beautiful.
We crossed a huge bridge and stopped to take a look. A birdwatcher excitedly pointed out a California Condor to us roosting under the bridge. So cool!
I did my #seven77 push-ups high above the Colorado River. Hard to beat ( for me. Some of the #seven77 Steem promoters are doing amazing things!!! If you aren’t part of the crew yet - get on it!!!)
By 6 PM we arrived in Kanab - a town I didn’t know existed until I was looking for an AirBnB halfway between Ganado and Provo.
What a beautiful little town it is. The kind where people don’t lock their doors. We are in a tiny house that is in the historic downtown.
Did you know that this town is known as little Hollywood? A lot of the old Westerns were filmed here. I can see why. The country side is striking!
