Bali to jedna z ponad 17 tysięcy wysp Indonezji, gdzie dominującą religią jest Islam. Lecz Bali wyłamuje się trochę z tej reguły, bo jest tu namiastka chrześcijanizmu oraz hinduizmu.

Mimo, że wyspa stałą się bardzo komercyjna, wyprawa do jej środka powoduje, że odczuwamy naturalny rytm spokojnego życia Bali. Znacznie mniej tam natarczywych naganiaczy, a obserwując życie dookoła, dostrzeżemy miejscowych, którzy są ponad tym wszystkim, i żyją swoim nieskrępowanym tempem.
