Jordania, okolice Akaby, dzień pierwszy
After a 124 km journey from Petra, we safely arrived in Aqaba and fulfilled our next plan. We decided to stay in Aqaba for another four days and recuperate before our next, and final, destination: the Jordanian capital, Amman.
Po 124 km podróży z Petry dotarliśmy szczęśliwie do Akaby i zrealizowaliśmy nasz kolejny plan. Postanowiliśmy kolejne 4 dni pozostać w Akabie i zregenerować siły przed kolejnym naszym celem, już ostatnim, czyli zwiedzaniem stolicy Jordanii - Ammanu.
We didn't actually stay in the center of Aqaba, but about 10 km away. Aqaba isn't particularly interesting, and there's nothing special there; even the beaches are average. However, a few kilometers south, right on the border with Saudi Arabia, it's completely different – better, but not perfect.
Tak na prawdę nie zatrzymaliśmy się w centrum Akaby tylko około 10 km od niej. Miasto Akaba nie należy do ciekawych, i nie ma tam nic specjalnego, nawet plaże są średnie. Natomiast kilka kilometrów na południe, tuż przy granicy z Arabią Saudyjską jest już zupełnie inaczej, lepiej, ale nie idealnie.

We stayed at the "Bedouins Inn Village" hotel, where we spent four nights in comfortable conditions. The resort has a swimming pool, which is mainly used as a diving training center during the season. There are many such facilities nearby.
Zatrzymaliśmy się w hoteliku "Bedouins Inn Village", gdzie w komfortowych warunkach spędziliśmy 4 noce. W ośrodku jest basen, który w sezonie służy głównie jako centrum szkoleniowe dla nurków. Takich obiektów w pobliżu jest bardzo dużo.
The hotel itself is very intimate, with friendly service. One of the waiters in the hotel restaurant is very reminiscent of Freddie Mercury. The food is decent and inexpensive. A hamburger on the beach cost 2 Jordanian dinars, or about 11 PLN, and breakfast at the hotel cost 3 Jordanian dinars, or about 16 PLN. The conditions were quite decent, with a private bathroom, air conditioning, and a balcony.
Sam hotelik jest bardzo kameralny, z miłą obsługą. Jeden z kelnerów w hotelowej restauracji bardzo przypomina Frediego Mercury. Jedzenie przyzwoite i tanie. Hamburger na plaży kosztował 2 dinary jordańskie, czyli około 11 zł, a śniadanie w hotelu 3 dinary jordańskie czyli około 16 zł. Całkiem przyzwoite warunki, prywatna łazienka, klimatyzacja, balkon.
The beach, as is typical of the Red Sea, was mostly rocky and pebbly, but the water was warm and crystal clear. We also found some Polish accents on the beach, namely characters from the cartoon "Gucio i Maja."
Plaża jak to nad Morzem Czerwonym, głównie kamienista i żwirowa, za to woda ciepła i krystalicznie czysta. Znaleźliśmy też na plaży polskie akcenty, czyli postacie z bajki "Gucio i Maja".

Unfortunately, there was one major problem in this area: the lack of any shops. The only shop in the area was located in the marina, a few kilometers from our hotel.
Był w tej okolicy niestety jeden, ale duży problem - brak jakiegokolwiek sklepu. Jedyny sklep w okolicy, znajdował się na terenie Mariny oddalonej kilka kilometrów od naszego hotelu.
Well, we'd have to get there somehow, which, as it turned out, wasn't easy.
Cóż, trzeba będzie się tam jakoś dostać, co jak się potem okazało, łatwe nie jest.
