Julie Jensen died in their Pleasant Prairie home in 1998. Mark Jensen was charged with her death in 2002 and convicted in 2008. However, the conviction was overturned by a federal judge in 2013, stating that the statement and letters that was written by Julie before her death and used as evidence against her husband were just an “unrebuttable and emotionally compelling accusation of guilt.”
According to the autopsy report, Julie's nose was broken and that she was poisoned with anti-freeze. In her letter that she had left with her neighbor, she said that "if something will happen to her, it would be her husband's doing."
Prosecutors argued that Jensen poisoned his wife and tried to make it look like a suicide, while the defense said she poisoned herself and then framed her husband.
Recently, Judge Chad Kerkman reinstated Mark Jensen's conviction for the murder of his wife. The latter however showed no reaction to the decision made.
Friends that have known them said, Julie was a kind person and Mark, the opposite. In my opinion, I think Julie loves him that much that she didn't leave him at once after what he had done earlier.
