Un neumático con dificultad
Así es amigos iniciando el año pasado íbamos para el pueblo del Tejero y en plena autopista la Vinotinto nos topamos con un tornillo que se incrusto directamente en el caucho delantero del copiloto, sentimos la vibracion desde el mismo momento, mi esposo buscó donde estacionar de forma segura y vimos dicho tornillo muy cómodo incrustado en un costado de la banda del neumático, la reacción inmediata de mi esposo fue cambiar la llanta, pero resulta que la llanta de repuesto estaba peor es decir vacía, lo que hicimos fue subir al automóvil e irnos poco a poco hasta una cauchera como a 10 km, se sentía la inestabilidad del vehículo, mucha vibracion, sin embargo el tornillo actuaba como sello, no se vacíó ni le causó más daño al neumático que el hueco al entrar, gracias a Dios llegamos al sitio sin ningún incidente que lamentar, 5$ costó la reparación y aprovechamos a llenar el caucho de repuesto.
El caucho en cuestión lo habíamos comprado esa misma semana, al quitarle el caucho el daño se pudo corregir y seguimos nuestro camino, pero que creen? que volvimos a tener otro incidente en la misma carretera y con el mismo caucho, esta vez el objeto no se quedó pegado ni siquiera supimos que fue, solo escuchamos o por lo menos yo lo escuché, el ruido cuando el caucho empezó a vaciar, nos paramos, en esta ocasión iba mi suegra con nosotros, ella se asustó mucho es una señora mayor y con algo de demencia, se cambió el caucho, se dice que en la autopista la Vinotinto de Maturín colocan muchos "Miguelitos" para ponchar los cauchos de los vehículos y obligar a los conductores a que se detengan y así los delincuentes aprovechan a robar sobre todo en horas de la noche. Total que yo le digo a mi esposo que somos un imán para atraer objetos de metal, menos mal que de noche viajamos poco y gracias a Dios hemos podido solucionar en cada incidente..
A Tire with a Problem
That's right, folks, at the beginning of last year we were heading to the town of Tejero, and right on the Vinotinto highway, we hit a screw that went right into the front passenger-side tire. We felt the vibration immediately. My husband looked for a safe place to park, and we saw the screw, nice and snug, embedded in the sidewall of the tire. My husband's immediate reaction was to change the tire, but it turned out the spare was in worse shape—it was flat. So we got in the car and drove slowly to a tire shop about 10 km away. The car felt unstable, and there was a lot of vibration. However, the screw acted as a seal; it didn't go flat and didn't cause any more damage to the tire than the hole it made when it went in. Thank God we arrived at the shop without any further incidents. The repair cost $5, and we took the opportunity to fill up the spare tire.
We had bought the spare tire that same week. After removing the tire, the damage was fixed, and we continued on our way. But guess what? We had another incident on the same road with the same tire. This time, the object didn't get stuck, and we didn't even know what it was. We just heard—or at least I heard—the noise when the tire started to deflate. We pulled over. This time, my mother-in-law was with us. She got very scared; she's an elderly woman with some dementia. We changed the tire. It's said that on the Vinotinto Highway in Maturín, they put out a lot of "miguelitos" (small tire spikes) to puncture vehicle tires and force drivers to stop, so criminals can take advantage and rob people, especially at night. Anyway, I tell my husband that we're like magnets for metal objects. Luckily, we don't travel much at night, and thank God we've been able to resolve each incident.
