Quick story
If you are shooting a lot of macros, you have probably noticed, that the light is the key to everything. This photo was made in total darkness, Yes with my a6000 and old minolta macro lens. So you see, don't need a expensive gear to make a cool looking photo. Here are a few tricks, that I use, to make my macro photography stand out.
Tip 1
Use flash - Flash is your friend / Makes your subject more focused and freezes the moment
Tip 2
If you use flash, use diffuser - Because the light from flash is to harsh / It make object look glossy! Most of the time you got burning spots on the photo too.
"Eyes at night"
Original
Tip 3
Use a extra lights - With extra light you will clear some shadows...or you will create new one / It will give your photo more depth and color. You will change the feel from the photo.
"Little to close"
Croped
Tip 4
Shoot in raw. file - Called digital negatives, and you can better colorgrade them / I use photoshop, lightroom or aurora pro
I hope, my tips will help you up your macro game.
