Today is election day in the European parliamentary elections. I voted at a polling station when I was going about running some errands. I'm a highly mobile voter whose voting behavior is very contextual. I vote based on whatever issues I find pressing at the moment. I made a post about the candidate I was going to vote for about a week ago. Petrus Pennanen, number 119, is a member of the Pirate party and Helsinki city council. As someone very much involved in the blockchain sector as every other Steemian, I consider electronic freedom to be high on my list of priorities. My candidate is a nuclear physicist by education and a former software entrepreneur who sold his business recently. Now he has plenty of time on his hands a some good ideas to promote in politics.
This is a picture of the front door of the polling station. It was at a local school operating in temporary buildings until the new building is finished. The old one had to be demolished because it has extensive moisture damage and serious indoor air quality problems.
This is one of the temporary buildings where there are classrooms. I couldn't take pictures inside. Running a school in such buildings is expensive for the city but the classrooms and the school cafeteria in which the polling took place weren't too bad.
As I was driving home, I took a few pictures. The leaves are now fully grown and despite the cool weather, the warm spell that ended last week caused a growth spurt when it comes to foliage on trees and other plants that has made it look like proper summer.
