Our club held its summer go tournament today. One player from outside of Lahti showed up. Matti Siivola, 5 dan, from Helsinki decided to come. He took the train from Vantaa. It's a one-hour trip. Jaro, his son Leo and our local Antti, 1 dan, also participated in addition to me.
Jaro set up a DLive stream for the whole duration of the tournament.
Here are some photographs of mine.
The venue: Cafe Oskari in Central Lahti
It's among the very few old buildings left in the city centre.
This is how it looked like in the early 20th century.
Cafe Oskari has a really nice interior.
I doubt very much those are the heating system any longer.
It's been renovated.
Some of the old kitchen remains.
Because there was an odd number of us, one player had to have a free round.
That game is mine and Jaro's. I gave him six stones. We're using a programmable chess clock (on the right).
